How to Return to the Catholic Church
No matter how long you have been away and no matter the reason, we invite you to consider renewing your relationship with the Catholic Church.
We miss you and we'd like to welcome you home. If you left the Church in pain we caused; if you feel you have done something to separate yourself from us; if you have married outside the Church; if you attend Mass only at Christmas and Easter, for weddings or funerals but do not receive Holy Communion; if you have not been to confession in a very long time, please contact us.

If you'd like to hear stories of others who have returned to the Catholic Church, we invite you to visit "Once Catholic". This Franciscan Friars program at St. Anthony Messenger seeks to help people reconnect with a local Catholic faith community. Once Catholic does this by offering information, opportunities for interaction with others, personal responses and referral to "Come Home" programs within the Catholic Church in the United States
Eight chat rooms offer a cyber but personal connection with a "companion", a pastoral minister in the Church. The eight areas are:
- marriage issues
- not being fed spiritually
- just drifted away
- quarrel with a Church representative
- feeling excluded from the Church
- abortion and or post-abortion issues
- difficulty with a Church teaching

Catholics Returning Home
Several of our parishes have formal programs for welcoming Catholics home again. These programs are processes for reaching out and inviting Catholics to return home to the Church and resume an active practice of their faith. They are conducted in a non-judgmental format, presenting a sequence of topics on the basics of Catholicism. The process is both formational and informational.
