St. Ignatian Retreat

March 6, 2015 - March 8, 2015

Where: Mount St. Joseph Conference & Retreat Center

A March 6-8 silent retreat based on the Spiritual Exercises of Saint Ignatius Loyola will allow participants to dwell in the unchanging reality that we are loved just as we are, to listen to the call of God and God’s hopes for us and to respond more deeply from our hearts. Retreatants will develop deeper pathways to prayer, keener discernment, the ability to see God actively involved in the world and intimately involved with us in every moment and place. Saint Ignatius Loyola founded the Society of Jesus (Jesuits) in the 16th century, in whose footsteps Pope Francis follows. Retreat director is Monica Armstrong, founder of Mission of the Spirit in Knoxville, Tenn. The $180 fee includes meals and accommodations. Take 10 percent off if paid in full by Feb. 6. The retreat takes place at Mount Saint Joseph Conference and Retreat Center. Contact Kathy McCarty, 270-229-0206 or kathy.mccarty@maplemount.org. Find a retreat flyer at www.ursulinesmsj.org.

Women's Retreat: "Holiness in Family Life"

March 20, 2015 - March 22, 2015

Where: Mount St. Joseph Conference & Retreat Center

“Holiness in Family Life: Lessons from Saint Monica and Elisabeth Leseur” will be the focus of a women's retreat March 20–22 at Mount Saint Joseph Conference and Retreat Center. The fourth-century Saint Monica and the 19th-century Elisabeth Leseur experienced family struggles firsthand. Saint Monica, famous for her faithful praying for the conversion of her son, Saint Augustine, lived with a violent husband. Elisabeth was married to an atheist, but her spiritual journals, left for him to read after her death, so moved him that he became a priest. These women were united in constant prayer for their loved ones to come to Christ. Retreat leader is Sister Cheryl Clemons, OSU. The $180 fee includes meals and accommodations. Commuters can attend for $130. Take 10 percent off if paid in full by Feb. 20. Contact Kathy McCarty, 270-229-0206 or e-mail kathy.mccarty@maplemount.org.
